The “Ecological Centre Radulovački” is an object in possesion of the Vojvodina Environmental Movement (an NGO), which is primarily used in education. The centre consists of two buildings and a spacious yard. The first building, which has been in possesion of the Vojvodina Environmental Movement since 2006, dates back to the 18th century and is a monument of history and culture protected by the government. It was officially opened in 2008, and it has a ground floor with offices and multi-functional meeting rooms with a kitchenette on the first floor. The rooms are on the second floor. The new wing of the building was opened in 2012, and it is one of the first examples of energetically efficient buildings in Serbia, because it uses solar and geothermal energy and has a very low rate of energy emission. It consists of a multifunctional working room with a kitchenette on the ground floor, six bedrooms which are on the first and second floor, and a little suite located in the attic. The overall capacity of both buildings is 47 beds, and meeting/work rooms can take up to 40 people. The construction of this facility was supported by many, but most of all by Professor Miodrag Radulovački, a former teacher at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and a former student of Sremski Karlovci Grammar School.
Since 2015, the center has been accredited by the European Commission as a “European Youth Centre”, which is one the most important acknowledgments it received. The “Ecological Centre Radulovački” is a place where the activities of the Vojvodina Environmental Movement are held (training seminars, summer camps for children and youth, international volunteer workcamps, trainings, events), but the Movement also lets other youth education organizations from Serbia and abroad, use it for their projects.
